Seatrans is Next Shipping Company to Choose CapRock’s New Commercial Maritime Service

SeaAccess Communications™ to improve operations of global fleet

OSLO, NORWAY & HOUSTON, TEXAS - June 12, 2007

For Seatrans AS, a fully integrated shipping company, adopting innovative services and solutions to better operate its fleet of global vessels has been key to the company's success. To dramatically improve its ship-to-shore and shore-to-ship communications, Seatrans has chosen CapRock's broadband maritime service, SeaAccess Communications ™.

With SeaAccess, Seatrans' captains can better stay connected with their regional offices by being directly tied into the corporate network, enabling the real-time exchange of critical vessel, schedule and route information. At the same time, SeaAccess enables the crew to keep in touch with those back home by making telephone calls, sending e-mails and accessing the Internet.

“Ensuring a good working environment on the vessels that we operate is a top priority for our company,” said Seatrans Director Ship Management, Leif Larsen. “With SeaAccess, we will be better able to take care of our crew and, in turn, attract top employees to help us continue providing customers with excellent service.”

The deployment of SeaAccess represents Seatrans' first adoption of an always-on VSAT service. Previously, Seatrans relied on various on-demand satellite communications, which charge customers by the minute or by the amount of data sent and received, resulting in the need to limit communications to keep costs down. With SeaAccess, onboard personnel have unlimited access to always-on voice, data and fax applications for a fixed, monthly price that is predictable. The service also includes installation, service and support over the period of the contract.

“CapRock's global presence is critical to effectively serve the needs of customers with global maritime operations,” said CapRock Vice President Sales, Maritime Division, Pal Jensen . “With 10 regional support centers positioned around the world, CapRock can provide local support to customers regardless of where their operations may be located.”

Seatrans is one of several companies already recognizing and experiencing the benefits of SeaAccess, which was announced only two months ago in April of this year.
“By selecting this service, Seatrans has confirmed what many other companies are also learning – SeaAccess truly meets the needs of the commercial maritime industry,” continued Jensen. “Having served the needs of vessels operating at sea for more than 25 years, we are confident that Seatrans will recognize the benefits from unrestricted, reliable communications almost immediately.”
