SeaBird Exploration Signs Up for CapRock’s New Maritime Service

Leading seismic services company signs multi-year deal for SeaAccess Communications™

OSLO, Norway & HOUSTON, Texas – July 10, 2007

SeaBird Exploration, a leading provider of seismic services to the international oil and gas industry, has chosen CapRock’s recently launched maritime service, SeaAccess Communications, as its satellite solution for three of its seismic vessels. The newly-developed solution is designed to increase the overall efficiency of fleet operations and to enhance crew morale.

The vessels will be provided with reliable IP-based communication services such as phone and fax services, secure access to the corporate network and Internet and real-time reporting capabilities. Network monitoring, maintenance and access to CapRock’s 24/7 help desk are also included in the managed solution.

SeaBird will leverage the always-on connection to enable ocean bottom and shallow water seismic data to be shared easily between the vessels and technical experts located onshore. By having instant access into the remote operations, seismic projects and the accompanying detailed studies can be better managed, resulting in enhanced data and services to clients.

“Our customers depend on us day in and day out to deliver information that is critical to their seismic operations,” said SeaBird Exploration Sr. Information Systems Manager, Stig Mathiassen. “The communication system we use onboard our vessels must be able to support that critical nature and we feel that SeaAccess harnesses the capabilities and reliability needed to do so.”

The vessels will be located primarily in the North Sea and the Gulf of Mexico, which allows CapRock to leverage its maritime services division, based in Norway, and regional support center in Louisiana to provide local service and response. With additional support centers strategically located throughout the world coupled with more than 25 years of experience, CapRock can offer SeaBird’s vessels a consistent level of global service and support to ensure reliable communication service anywhere in the world.

“We are truly honored to have been selected by SeaBird,” said CapRock President, Maritime Division, Tore Hilde. “They represent leadership in their industry and we look forward to supporting their operations with reliable, turnkey communication services they can count on.”
