CapRock Communications Names David Cavossa VP of SATCOM Division for Arrowhead Global Solutions

FAIRFAX, VA - July 8, 2008

CapRock Communications has promoted David Cavossa to vice president of its SATCOM Division for Arrowhead Global Solutions, its government-focused service that provides mission-critical connectivity anywhere in the world. Arrowhead delivers end-to-end managed communications solutions anytime, anywhere to customers including government operations, first responders and warfighters.

With almost a decade in the industry, Cavossa has extensive experience supporting the government community in the public and private sectors. He had served as vice president of government relations since joining the company in July of 2007 and will now report directly to Arrowhead President Tom Eaton. Cavossa will be responsible for leading all initiatives in support of the SATCOM Division’s Department of Defense, Intel and civil government customers. These initiatives include satellite communications, terminal integration, bandwidth monitoring and control and information assurance activities.

“During his time at Arrowhead, David has demonstrated superior executive qualities, including strong leadership, a high level of integrity, accountability, outreach to customers and taking on tasks outside the scope of his position,” said Eaton. “David will undoubtedly continue to play a key role in shaping the company’s strategic vision.”

Cavossa joined Arrowhead from the Satellite Industry Association (SIA), where, as executive director, he served as chief industry advocate on homeland security, defense, telecom and trade issues. Prior to this, he worked as SIA’s director of external relations. During his tenure at SIA, Cavossa doubled the association’s membership, leading to a 100 percent increase in revenue. He played an integral role in the development of several homeland security, public safety and national security initiatives, expanded the commercial satellite industry’s voice and visibility within the Defense community and raised awareness on Capitol Hill by testifying before Congress on multiple occasions.

Before joining SIA, David held positions within NASA’s Office of Legislative Affairs and Office of External Relations, working closely with congressional staff and foreign space agencies in support of NASA activities. Cavossa is a graduate of Wheaton College and earned a Master of Arts degree in science, technology and public policy from George Washington University, where he was a Space Policy Fellow.
