CapRock Communications, a leading provider of satellite communications to remote and harsh environments, today announced the addition of David Bunting to its senior management team as vice president of Global Engineering. Bunting will oversee CapRock’s technology and infrastructure development, including managing new equipment and service solutions.
“David has an extensive background in successfully deploying networks that scale to clients’ growing global operations,” said CapRock Chief Technology Officer Philip Harlow. “He brings first-hand experience implementing some of the world’s largest voice and data networks and managing their related upgrades and enhancements. Today a significant portion of CapRock’s business is from customer operations outside of the United States and that global business is increasing. David’s experience will be instrumental as CapRock further builds its infrastructure to support customers’ growing needs for reliable, worldwide satellite communications.”
Bunting will focus on developing CapRock’s technology platform roadmap, strengthening strategic vendor partnerships and further standardizing product suites. “CapRock has built its reputation on providing unparalleled customer service and support,” continued Harlow. “The insertion of new technologies is essential to the continuing growth of CapRock, and David’s strength in this area will ensure that we remain as the front-runner in quality service delivery. By further standardizing our product offerings across our markets and geographies, we have the ability to deliver even faster response times to better support the mission-critical nature of our customers’ businesses.”
Prior to joining CapRock, Bunting was director of Application Engineering for DRS Technical Services, a supplier of integrated defense electronics, services and support, where he oversaw the design and implementation of multi-million dollar voice and data communication networks. Prior to holding this position, Bunting served as the chief systems engineer for Openband Multimedia, where he led the operations of multiple satellite network technologies and security infrastructure. Bunting also held a series of progressive managerial roles with G2 Satellite Solutions. He attended St. Edwards College in Malta and graduated from the 8th Signal Regiment Army College of Signals in the United Kingdom where he served as a detachment commander focusing on communications and new technologies.
