CapRock Government Solutions, a global provider of specialized communications services for military, intelligence and civilian government communities, announced today the company’s 2,000th circuit order under its DISN Access Transport Services (DATS) contract with DISA. Under DATS, CapRock provides the latest in optical technologies to support the Defense Department’s current and future telecommunications requirements and its ever-increasing demand for high-capacity bandwidth.
CapRock reached the 2,000th order landmark by completing more than 1,000 circuit orders over the last 12 months. To date, CapRock has installed terrestrial circuits to over 900 DoD facilities, including both military and non-military sites in 28 states and the District of Columbia since the contract award in October 2006. The circuits support a variety of activities, including large scale circuit transitions, mission-critical exercise projects, National Security and Emergency Preparedness requirements and DoD backbone services, as well as new telecom requirements across the Defense Department.
“Over the past two years CapRock’s Terrestrial Services team has achieved greater flexibility, faster provisioning times and lower costs for our DATS clients across the east coast,” said CapRock Government Solutions VP of Operations, David Cavossa. “This 2,000th order milestone demonstrates how closely aligned we’ve become with our DoD customers and speaks to the significance and value of this contract vehicle.”
CapRock provides terrestrial services to the DoD’s Global Information Grid across the Northeast and Southeast regions of the U.S., which span from Maine to Florida and reach as far west as Louisiana. Services range from 3k to OC192 and are utilized by Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, National Guard, Army Reserve and civilian elements of the DoD at a variety of military installations within these regions.
“CapRock has celebrated a series of major milestones over the past year that represent the company’s transition toward providing critical value-added services and significant cost savings for the DoD,” said CapRock Government Solutions President, Tom Eaton.
Earlier this year, CapRock noted another significant milestone when it was honored by the International Satellite and Communications exchange (ISCe) with the Satellite Industry Leadership Award. The Award was given in recognition of CapRock’s recent commercial X-band managed service offering – an industry first that won CapRock two multimillion dollar contracts to provide over 200 MHz of commercial X-band satellite services to the U.S. Government. CapRock offers its comprehensive value-add product and service portfolio under a wide variety of contract vehicles including the GSA’s SATCOM-II and DISA’s DSTS-G contract, which provides global satellite capabilities to the U.S. Marine Corps and the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, among others in the DoD community.
