CapRock Government Solutions Expands Customer Service Efforts

Announces Augustine Ponturiero as Director of Operations

FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA - January 19, 2010

CapRock Government Solutions announced today it has selected Augustine Ponturiero to join its Fairfax, VA-based team as Director of Operations.  Ponturiero is the most recent addition to CapRock’s government division, which took steps in 2009 to install a new management team as part of a strategic initiative to transform into a global company dedicated to solving the demanding communications challenges of its government clients.

“CapRock has established a reputation for industry-leading customer service in the government market,” Ponturiero said.  “I look forward to helping the company as we focus our efforts toward the more complex and fully managed end-to-end network solutions that our customers are increasingly moving toward in the satellite, terrestrial and wireless space.”

In his new role, Ponturiero will primarily oversee the day-to-day functions of CapRock’s Satcom Division and its government-dedicated Network Operations Center (NOC).  He will also be responsible for the creation and maintenance of best practices in program management, while expanding existing customer programs and relationships. Ponturiero will report to Vice President of Operations, David Cavossa.

“Our government customers need world-class and mission-critical service and support that they can rely on, on a 24x7 basis. Augie will be instrumental in taking CapRock’s customer service to the next level.” Cavossa said.

Ponturiero has over twenty years of comprehensive experience in C4ISR programs. Prior to CapRock, he spent five years with Northrop Grumman Corporation, where he served as program manager and capture manager for various IT, telecom, and modeling and simulation programs.

Previously, he served as program manager for the Enhanced Mobile Satellite Services (EMSS) program and as executive officer for the Defense Information Systems Agency’s (DISA) Joint Information Engineering Organization and Network Services Organization.  Ponturiero earned his Master of Science in engineering system management from the Florida Institute of Technology and holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy. He served as a Naval Officer for 20 years.
