CapRock Communications, a leading provider of satellite communications to remote and harsh environments, today announced JJ Thakkar as vice president of Global Human Resources. In this role, Thakkar will oversee all global human resource functions including strategic organizational planning, employee training and development and the further alignment of CapRock’s worldwide operations.

Thakkar has more than 15 years of experience in the human resources field, with more than half of that time holding international positions in North America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia. Prior to joining CapRock, Thakkar served as senior vice president of Human Resources for Merrill Lynch Commodities Inc. where he was responsible for providing leadership and direction for human resource programs and services and was heavily involved in the merger with Bank of America. Previously, Thakkar worked in multiple consulting and leadership roles spanning industries including energy, mining, technology, manufacturing and financial services. Earlier in his career, he served as a principal at a boutique management consulting firm and founded Interactive Dialogues, an online solution for providing a coordinated approach to corporate communications.

Thakkar holds a master’s degree in International Management from Boston University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Drake University. He is currently active in the Summer Business Institute at Rice University and serves on the board for the Center for Global Leadership at Drake University.
